Christian mission is outreach to proclaim and embody God’s redeeming love, nurturing fellow disciples of Jesus Christ so together we might do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God.
I would like to get it shorter than that, but this definition has evolved to this point with input from some colleagues. I also need to incorporate the notion that really it's GOD'S mission (mission Dei) and we're joining God's program already in progress...

My definition would be: Christian mission is to love God above all else and our neighbors as ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI have thought about this for a long time and when I read that Jesus said "On this hangs the law and all the prophets" I think "To be a Christian this must be the lens through which I view life and faith."
